I was thrilled to find this pattern! I have always been interested in traditional fair isle and had tried to design my own kep, but to no avail. I couldn't believe my eyes when I came across Bakka!

Every aspect of making this hat was enjoyable; the pattern is faultless, the fair isle pattern is pleasantly challenging, and the yarn is gorgeous- I'll definitely be using Spindrift again! Lovely, too, to feel that you are knitting a piece of history. I will treasure this hat for years to come and am looking forward to making matching gloves!

I have now knitted both of the 5-colour hats and thoroughly enjoyed the process. The patterns were easy to follow, everything arrived safely (across the world to Australia) and when I needed some additional wool it was very straightforward contacting Mary and organising another shipment.
We have Shetland ancestors and it's lovely to be able to make something in a heritage pattern using beautiful wool that has a link to Shetland.
