The pattern on the contemporary Fair Isle cowl represents the board of the Royal Game of Ur, a game which was played in ancient Abysinnia by kings and commoners alike. It designed originally as a scarf commission for the British Museum.

Ur cowl

High quality, I love merino for its comfort and warmth, I've worn it every day since purchase to keep the wind at bay in Shetland. Love the colour and design, pricey but I hope I'll be wearing for many years to come.
