Five stars from me. These kits have really given me a “head start” (sorry!) on the road to kep knitting. I’ve purchased several apart from this one, along with kits in gorgeous heritage colours. I’m used to knitting FairIsle for beanies so wanted to try something more ambitious. It takes a little longer to knit a kep, and personally speaking the star pattern was more challenging although instructions are excellent. When the individual colours come together the result really is stunning. My husband loves the double layer and seeing him warm and comfy makes me smile when I spy him in garden. Great value for money and extremely rewarding to knit these up. Can recommend.

Just want to add a comment to say that I thoroughly enjoyed knitting this traditional kep!
The wool and pattern kit arrived in Australia, after a short wait.
The pattern was clear and easy to read. I found it helpful to have a straight edge clipped to the pattern so I didn’t loose my place.
The wool is in a lovely range of colours and the kep turned out exactly as pictured. This was a delightful project and a special gift for my grandson. Thank you Bakka!

I have now knitted both of the 5-colour hats and thoroughly enjoyed the process. The patterns were easy to follow, everything arrived safely (across the world to Australia) and when I needed some additional wool it was very straightforward contacting Mary and organising another shipment.
We have Shetland ancestors and it's lovely to be able to make something in a heritage pattern using beautiful wool that has a link to Shetland.
